🏆 Victory in Colombia - Bogota Gravel

I am thrilled to share some great news from South America: this weekend, I took the victory at Gravel Bogota, a round of the UCI Gravel World Series!

Race Dynamics & The Breakaway
Racing and winning in Colombia against the local riders is never an easy task. The race started fast, with the pro field mixed with the age groupers, and we quickly formed a lead group of about 10 riders. I knew I had to take the initiative early on to avoid getting caught in any tricky situations, so I pushed the pace during a technical descent in the early stages of the race and successfully forced a gap.

The Winning Move
Shortly after that technical descent, we hit a long, demanding climb. I put in a big effort, which allowed me to drop my last breakaway companion. From that point on, I was entirely on my own at the front of the race.

The Finale
I spent the remaining 90 kilometers riding completely solo all the way to the finish line! I didn't back down and kept pushing hard the entire time, treating this solo effort as the ultimate physical and mental preparation for my upcoming goals in the US.

The Takeaway
I crossed the line to take the win! The Bogota course was versatile and a true test for the equipment. We faced 20-minute long climbs, technical descents, a 30km fast and flat "American-style" gravel section, a wet and highly technical single-track in the finale, and a 15km high-speed highway stretch to finish. To win on a course like this, you need a setup that can pass everywhere. I am super happy to report that the bike and all the equipment were flawless from start to finish.

What’s next?

Next stop: The Leadville Trail 100 in Colorado! It is going to be a challenge racing at high altitude, and it marks my first MTB event of the Life Time Grand Prix 2026. I am feeling in great shape and highly motivated to keep this momentum going.
